ROUVY Velká cena Vimperka – this was the name of the final 5th race of the premier AC Heating Cup of the UCI XCO.

The race took place under very extreme conditions and thus closed the UCI XCO season in the Czech Republic for this year.

The organizers of the race from Vimpersk gymnasium kept the already traditional September date. The organizing team is basically the ROUVY Specialized team and the trainees around it.

Already on Friday in Vimperek, 30 years (more precisely, 31) of the Vimpersk Gymnasium were celebrated in the cultural center - especially cycling under the leadership of Vojta Huřík and Jirka Lutovský, you can say a cycling ball, where a lot of historically famous names from the Czech bicycling scene gathered. They all had the heart and prepared the race even under the weekend's extreme conditions, led by Jéňa Jedlička.

"Of course, we considered whether to cancel the race, as the onslaught of rain didn't come exactly until Saturday and we were also aware of the flood situation in the Czech Republic. If we said we would cancel - the replacement date would not take place, there would never be due to organizational and schedule-conflict reasons.

Marked track, cleared passages , secured area, arranged refreshments, marshals, international UCI judges brought from the airport, series ensemble brought in, accommodation reservations for everyone and a lot of other long-term organizational things... so we left the race and in the end Sunday was quite calm. No rain in the morning, it started after noon, but compared to Friday and Saturday it was possible. In the end, half of the area was filled with cars and everyone arrived with a smile on their face" said series director Ondřej Paur.

,,We did our best for the safety and smooth running of the race. We cut off the risky places around the stream where the water was already rising, we didn't let anyone in there and it was clear to us that the participation would be weaker, so we consolidated the categories into common blocks of starts with 1 minute intervals. Everyone coped with it beautifully, we had no injuries and from a technical point of view, everything was fine," said race director Jan Jedlička.

The star and legend of Czech MTB, Tereza Vlk Huříková, a home-grown grammar school student, also appeared at the race with her children, both of whom had already competed in the children's categories.

Their grandfather, or Tereza's father – Vojta Huřík prepared the awards and announcement.

In the end, international participation gathered at the starting line, and the riders shared the last UCI points for XCO in the junior and elite categories in this year's season here in the Czech Republic.

An important technical helper was certainly the washing zone, where Cyklostar and Karcher Sedláček were in charge. These series partners are in full force at every race of the series with three pressure pumps and an infinity of Cyklostar Original sprayers.

Ondřej Cink graced the elite category with his participation at the start, who chose Vimperk as the last race before leaving for the final 2 events of the World Cup in America. From the first lap he was in the lead together with Kruger, the next lap Ondra already had a lead of 5 seconds and kept increasing his lead until the final 45 seconds at the finish line.

Everyone praised the track, as it is one of the old-school ones, there is no need to invent technical obstacles, as there are plenty of roots, stones and rocks on the circuit, including more demanding climbs.

This concludes the scoring of the AC Heating cup and we already know the overall winners.

They will meet on November 9 in Pilsen at the festive cycling evening - Absolute party, which will be held in Sallon Roudná, Pilsen.

"We will present prizes to the overall winners, but it will also be a cycling party with the partners of the series, and we should gather around 380-400 😊 announced Lampík.
